Save to cloud
With a GridCraft account you get cloud storage for your maps, so they're backed up off your machine and ready when you sign in. You manage them from your dashboard.
Managing your maps
- Sign in (top-right, Sign in / Get Started).
- Go to your dashboard and open My maps. Confirm your email first if you haven't yet, since cloud storage is locked until you do.
- Click New Map to start an empty one, or Import File to upload a
.json,.tmx, or.tmjyou already have. - Each row shows the map's size and when it last changed. Rename, download, or delete it from the actions on the right.
Editing
The browser editor reads and writes map files on your own computer. It asks for a folder once, then opens and saves there. To move an edited map into cloud storage, download it from the editor and import it under My maps.
Free-tier limits
You get:
- 3 maps.
- 25 MB of total storage.
- 1 bound desktop device (the browser doesn't count).
When you hit a limit, the next save is turned down and tells you which limit you ran into. Delete a map or upgrade to clear it. Your maps page shows how much of your storage is in use.
Cancelling a paid plan
If you downgrade from a paid plan to free and you're over the limits, your over-quota maps go read-only. You can still download them. You can't edit them or save new changes until you delete enough to fit, or upgrade again.
Local backups
We don't promise zero downtime, and we say the same in the terms. Use File → Export As to save as Tiled JSON and keep a local copy of anything important. The desktop app also drops periodic recovery files on your computer; in the browser, export the maps you care about.
